As well as our standard English teaching camps across China, we’re launching an all new summer teaching program in Shanghai. This camp focuses on teaching STEM and Economics, and is best suited to trainee or experienced teachers in these subject areas.
Located in the bustling, modern metropolis of Shanghai, interns can spend their spare time admiring stunning skyscrapers on the bund, exploring ancient temples or shopping in the bustling markets.

Apply nowThe students attending this camp in Shanghai will typically be around GCSE age and hoping to study abroad in the future. There will be a maximum of 20 students per class, providing you with a small group environment for more individualised teaching.

The summer camp aims to provide students with the opportunity to develop subject-specific skills through academic workshops and an extended project or investigation.
Additionally, the camp will provide them with a more collaborative study environment, preparing them for future study abroad.
Subject specialist teachers are required for each of the following subject strands:
- Maths and Computer Science
- Physics and Engineering
- Chemistry and Biology
- Economics and Business
Your typical day at camp will begin at 8:00 with a delicious canteen breakfast, followed by a day of classes and labs. After dinner, expect some more relaxed social activities with the other tutors and students at the camp.

Initially, you will focus on teaching the core content and skills required to access the project, followed by four days of intensive project work. Finally, you'll spend a couple of days assisting your students with preparing their reports and presentations - ready to celebrate at the closing ceremony with their families.
Apply nowTeach specialist STEM classes to enthusiastic GCSE age students in China! With just 20 students per class, you can provide them with more individual attention – building closer relationships and incorporating each students’ interests into your lessons.
You will usually have the assistance of a bilingual teaching assistant or co-teacher, providing support for students with additional needs and facilitating classroom management.
Lasting the duration of the summer camp, the individual or group project is a fantastic opportunity for students to investigate a topic of interest in more depth. Students will typically spend a couple of hours each day on this project, with the subject specialist teacher at hand for advice and guidance.
Subject teachers may also be required to assist students with the development of project ideas, which may require some advance preparation prior to the camp.
While 9:30 – 16:30 will be spent on academic studies, the evening activities program enables students and teachers alike to relax a bit and join in fun games or competitions.
This could be anything from sports to talent shows! Interns may be offered the opportunity to lead actives themselves or join in with their class.
