At this brand new camp for 2019, interns will teacher primary school age children a wide variety of topics – teaching English through subject and cultural exploration.
Teach English as a Foreign Language, generally for two-three classes per day. At the Guangzhou camp, each class has around 20 students and you’ll rotate around different groups throughout the camp.
You will usually have the assistance of a bilingual teaching assistant or co-teacher, and are provided with lesson plans and teaching materials.
Each afternoon, interns will run afternoon activities and workshops for the students. These may include topics such as art, drama, film making, public speaking, sports, phonics, reading and creative writing.
Interns will be allocated a specific workshop to lead based on their previous experience and interests, with some flexibility to try other activities during the camp.
While some evenings will be dedicated to whole-camp activities such as talent shows, singing competitions and parties, the younger nature of the kids at this camp also enables more relaxed activities.
These may include reading time, evening rhymes and calming games.
